During this informative session Mr Muhury will provide information about the human sensory system, types of hearing loss, and what type of hearing loss are the most concern to adults and why. He will also share how hearing loss affects brain performance and and will conclude with which type of hearing aid technology can help with improvement in brain function.
Mr. Muhury was licensed as a Hearing Aid Specialist in 1997. While taking on the task of helping the hearing impaired, he also put his education in the field to good use by training and educating audiologists, MD’s and those seeking hearing aid dispensing as a career. He has taught over 80 professionals in the past 12 years, who are highly reputed in this field. Mr. Muhury continues to educate himself in the field of neurosciences and understanding of neural patterns that allow a person to understand the environmental and speech sounds. Patient satisfaction with hearing aids is the main aim at Jay’s Hearing Aid Center.

Laura L. Bromlow, Esq. practices Elder Law and Special Needs Planning. Her practice emphasizes estate planning with a specific focus on the senior population and those individuals with special needs. Often times this requires consideration of long-term care. Ms. Bromlow is versed in Medi-Cal, the Veterans Pension benefit and Special Needs planning. Her practice also includes probate, trust administration and conservatorship. The Color of Thought and Helpful Ways to Brighten the Brain
Mary Thoits, Long Beach City College Senior Studies Center
Ms. Thoits has been involved in brain research, meditation, and mindfulness, both at the college and in the community. She is passionate about providing seniors with opportunities to be active during retirement and walks the walk and talks the talk, keeping active on a daily basis.
Currently 91, Ms. Thoits spent her 85th birthday skydiving and her 87th birthday flying a small plane around Santa Catalina Island (she’s a pilot). She also remains an active swimmer. She believes the concept of retirement is grossly overrated and that people can retire to do something else, but not to pull back from society so they can continue to understand what is happening in the world and to be a part of it.
